Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 24, 2023 (SKNIS): The Ministry of Small Business and Entrepreneurship awarded ‘booster grants’ of five thousand dollars ($5000) to 40 small business entrepreneurs within the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis as a means of promoting good economic development. The award ceremony took place on October 24 in the Ministry’s Conference Room at Port Zante, Basseterre.
Minister of Small Business and Entrepreneurship, the Honourable Samal Duggins said, “In trying to acquire money to do this, one of the things we were challenged with was the idea of how much would have been given to small businesses and very little to show for it and I want us to prove them wrong this time.”
“I also want you to make it easier for the next set of small businesses because the more you show success, the easier it is to get more of these and do more of them,” he said.
The Honourable Minister explained that success is mandatory for there to be continued support for the sector and urged that the awardees be diligent in their endeavours.
He also tasked the Ministry to monitor, evaluate and support the awardees to ensure that they become successful.
