Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 06, 2021 (SKNIS): The Ministry of Health’s robust contact tracing continues to identify new cases of COVID-19 with twenty-five (25) positive results within the last 48 hours and no recovered case. St. Kitts & Nevis COVID-19 Situation Report No. 466 as of Monday, July 05, 2021, states that the total number of confirmed cases now stands at 515 with 275 active cases, 237 recovered cases and three deaths. 497 of those cases were recorded in St. Kitts while 18 were registered in Nevis. A recent outbreak of the deadly coronavirus on St Kitts and Nevis has again impacted the economy and caused the government to enact a State of Emergency. Resultantly, many persons are experiencing hardship. As our social corporate response, the Social Security Board has allocated $250 000 to a Food Voucher Initiative. Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 02, 2021 (SKNIS): Osmond Petty, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of National Security, announced during the NEOC COVID-19 Press Briefing for Friday, July 02, 2021, that just around 50 percent of the population at Her Majesty’s Prison (HMP) have received at least the first dose of the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. “There are 179 inmates at Her Majesty’s Prison of which 89 have been vaccinated, that is just around 50 percent.
