On the 27th October, 2020, His Excellency the Governor General assented to a change in the Electoral Laws. The changes, contained in Amendment No 13 of 2020, distinguished between CARICOM and COMMONWEALTH nationals, and clarified ordinary resident a bit more. Previously, all Commonwealth nationals, both Caricom and other, qualified to register as voters after residence for twelve months.
