Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 03, 2018 (SKNIS): The formal meeting of the Cabinet took place on Tuesday, April 03, 2018. The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris. Here are the salient matters that were discussed at that meeting:
Cabinet approved concessions for several small and medium sized enterprises thereby enhancing their potential to engage the market and to perform better.
Several new Citizenship-by-Investment (CBI) projects applications were considered by the Cabinet as interest is heightened and trust restored in the CBI programme under the Team Unity Administration.
In keeping with its mandate to maintain law and order, Cabinet approved a submission from the Office of the Attorney General to pursue a Law Revision Project covering the period 2010 to 2017.
Cabinet considered requests from several entities for alien land holding licences.
Cabinet received updates on several projects including the island-wide road resurfacing project to be started imminently on a share basis. In this regard, Cabinet committed to a public signing ceremony with small contractors on Friday 6th April, at 4:30 pm at the Airport Roundabout. The public is invited to witness this major road resurfacing project, which will enhance the state of the island’s road network, reduce wear and tear on vehicles and minimize the cost of maintenance of vehicles, while adding to road safety.
Cabinet received an update on a major housing initiative to be launched in May geared at helping government employees in obtaining their first home.
